The reality of being a writer is this beautiful and ever changing thing in our world that continues to advance so rapidly. The internet is inundated with writers and bloggers and journalist and it's amazing. It also comes with this harsh judgment we put on ourselves. Why bother if I'm not the best? Why write if my first draft isn't perfect? It can become hard to have fun with your writing. That's why I have started to experiment with blackout poetry and have fun with my writing again, not stress about every single word on the page because they're already there for me.
Blackout poetry has been around for over 250 years, and recently popularised by Austin Kleon. Here are a few of my favourite ones that I have done (I'm not the best artist but I do enjoy the words)
